Plant Health Care Specialist
As a Plant Health Care Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring, diagnosing, and treating tree and shrub health issues within a defined service area. This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our clients.
A Typical Day May Include
- Inspecting trees and shrubs to identify pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and other plant health concerns
- Recommending and applying appropriate treatments to improve plant health and vitality
- Preparing written diagnostic reports and educating clients about their landscape and tree care needs
- Operating spray and application equipment safely and effectively
- Managing a service route while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minnesota Pesticide Applicator License – Category A & E (or ability to obtain immediately)
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn plant and tree identification
- Commitment to completing required training and certifications
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to work full days outdoors in varying weather conditions with occasional overtime
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or coursework in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Plant Pathology, Environmental Science, Landscape Management, or Turfgrass
- Prior experience in plant health care, landscaping, turf management, or arboriculture
Physical Requirements
This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Candidates must be able to:
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Bend, reach, stoop, and move equipment as needed
- Safely operate tools and application equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
